Natural materials will surely boost our excitement in each season, and the miraculous designs by humans will also continue to uplift us.
But now, with climate change and environmental crisis becoming apparently serious and society changing at a dizzying pace, the threat to these splendid fashion items and rich, fulfilling lives is growing. We may have been using too much of the earth’s resources over the past few decades, or we might have sacrificed “universal affluence” without realizing it in the process of our pursuit of easy and prosperous lives. Yes, it’s us.
UNITED ARROWS LTD. loves cultural happiness that is brought about by people and the places they are from. Although there are still uncertainties regarding the realization of a sustainable society, we hope that we can protect the happiness of the earth through the activities of SARROWS together with you as people who are living in the same era.

UNITED ARROWS LTD.'s sustainability activities are driven by endorsement, collaboration with the following initiatives. Our activities have been recognized by external organizations as follows.
Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures
The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) is a task force established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) for the disclosure of climate-related financial information, and is a framework to inform investors of risks and opportunities climate change will bring about for the finances of companies. UNITED ARROWS LTD. announced its support for the TCFD Recommendation in July 2022 and has been disclosing related information.
CDP
CDP is an international environmental NGO based in the United Kingdom that operates multiple environmental information disclosure programs for companies and other organizations. It initially focused on climate-related information, but has since expanded its focus to include other environmental information such as water and forests. UNITED ARROWS LTD. has responded to questionnaires since 2021: response to “Water Security Questionnaire” in 2021, response to “Water Security Questionnaire” and “Climate Change Questionnaire” in 2022. We obtained a B rating in CDP Climate Change Report 2023. The B rating is considered to be at the management level and evaluates that “the company is aware of its own environmental risks and their impacts and is acting accordingly”.
JAPAN SUSTAINABLE FASHION ALLIANCE
The JAPAN SUSTAINABLE FASHION ALLIANCE (JSFA) is an alliance established in August 2021 with 11 companies in the fashion and textile industries to promote the transition to a sustainable fashion industry (the number of members as of June 2022 is 44 companies). JSFA members work together to find solutions to common issues in the fashion and textile industries, aiming to achieve “zero fashion loss through appropriate production, purchasing, and recycling” and to realize “carbon neutrality by 2050.”
Science Based Targets
Science Based Targets (SBT) are greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets consistent with the standard set out in the Paris Agreement (which aims to limit global warming to well below 2℃, preferably to 1.5℃, compared to preindustrial levels). The greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets UNITED ARROWS LTD. has set for FY2030 obtained SBT initiative certification in April 2023.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index
We have been selected as a constituent of the "FTSE Blossom Japan Index", a leading index for ESG investment. Companies that are members of the index have been evaluated as meeting various environmental, social, and governance criteria.
FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
We have been selected as a constituent of the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, a leading ESG investment index. The index is designed to be sector-neutral, reflecting the performance of Japanese companies that excel in environmental, social and governance performance relative to their sector.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
We have been selected as a constituent of the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index, a stock price index that focuses on E (environment) among ESG investments. The index aims to revitalize the stock market by encouraging environmental initiatives and information disclosure throughout the market by adopting rules such as increasing the weight of companies that fully disclose environmental information and companies with high carbon efficiency.
The Nikkei SDGs Management Survey 2023
The Nikkei SDGs Management Survey 2023, conducted by the Nikkei Shimbun, evaluates companies that are working to solve social, economic and environmental problems through their business and improve corporate value. The survey consists of questions in four areas: “SDG strategy and economic value,” “social value,” “environmental value,” and “governance.”
UNITED ARROWS LTD. was awarded an overall rating of 3 stars, having received an “S” in “governance” and high ratings in each of other areas.
